Picanto series 1.
On initial viewing of Picanto's were only able to see top of range versions. Original salesman showed us round and and started purchase procedures however he was furloughed and another sales rep finalised the deal.We did not see the car we purchased until it was delivered. .So far so good. when my wife ( for whom it was a gift )sat in the car she could not see safely ahead as she had to look through the steering wheel (she is only 5ft 2ins) and there is no seat lift mechanism on this model.Advised by Tates to get seat raised by Motobility costing another £500 app. When I contacted KIA was told any alteration to standard design invalidated warranty.. She was not happy but we had to buy booster cushion so she can see safely..She can now drive safely but if this was pointed out at start(no picanto 1 on forecourt) I would have purchased series 2.
Secondly wife has been unable to move car as immobiliser would not release..
Tates service told us to get car to them (impossible as immobiliser in operation) as last resort phoned RAC Kia Assist.A very knowledgeable mechanic arrived . Opened door with key but as soon as inserted in ignition alarm sounded and would not start.Went through his diagnostic machine which pointed to fuse,on opening panel found fuse incorrectly installed. Reinstalled and been ok since
